SYN Attended the 14th IMPCA Asia’s International Methanol Conference

The 14th IMPCA Asia’s International Methanol Conference was held in Singapore from 1st to 3rd November 2011 at the Marina Bay Sands. The IMPCA Asia’s International Methanol conference, which is held each year by IMPCA (International Methanol Producers and Consumers Association), MMSA (Methanol Market Services Asia) and JJ&A (Jim Jordan & Associates), is the largest international gathering of the methanol community in Asia. SYN Energy Technology Co., Ltd was invited to attend the meeting and make a presentation about its cutting edge Methanol-to-Olefins technology, the DMTO technology. Lots of manufacturers, traders, consumers, licensors and logistic providers attended the conference, including Methanex, Mitsubishi Gas, Davy Process Technology, Johnson Matthey, Lurgi, Süd Chemie, Haldor Topsoe, Celanese, Norgas, Braemar Quincannon, Vopak and so on.

Many topics concerned with methanol were discussed on the meeting, including the development of coal chemical industry in China, outlook of methanol market around world (Asia, India, Southeast Asia), outlook of methanol downstream market (formaldehyde, acetic acid, DME), new technologies (DMTO, MTP, increasing scale of methanol facilities) and prospects of methanol fuel blending.

Vice general manager SONG Shuangtian and licensing manager LI Jingwei attended the conference. Dr. LI gave a speech titled as “Methanol to Light Olefin (DMTO) Technology, Industrialization Prospect and Economics” to all of attendees, in which the development background, history, application prospects and economic analysis of DMTO technology were introduced in detail. A number of corporations contacted SYN during the meeting and showed their intents of cooperating with SYN.
